Ireland, not Iceland
We're back from Ireland, contrary to common knowledge we were not in Iceland. (Ivan, our spanish roomate had a little malentendido with that one). It was amazing. Just like you would imagine it. Only awful thing about it was flying out of seville - the worlds worst city. Picture palm springs if there were no outlet malls or, better yet, food, and thats what it was like. Just a big open place of nothingness. All that really happened there was waiting and eating waiting and eating, and eating the most horrible food in the world. I ate a hamburger that may or may not have been pig loin, and a salad that cost 9 euro (the price didnt include the flies in the vinegar). We fought with the camerero because he wouldnt give us a plate to eat our bread (which we didnt order, but he still charged us 4 euro). NEVER GO TO SEVILLA. NEEEVVVERRR. anyways. after long buses (i have finally learned how to sleep on public transportation, thank god) we made it to dublin only to get off the plane and die of cold. like, we're dead. it was 30 degrees. we had sweatshirts. greaaaaat. perfect. of course this would happen to us. so anyways, after freezing our selves off we got to our hostel only to find out we were staying in the same one as this annoying stupid guy wearing cowboy boots thinking he was the hottest thing in the world. of course. emily has two friends from dublin, twins, who showed us a true irish time around dublin. after dublin we took a 4 hr bus ride to galway....the most awesome city in the world. we always took the back of the bus which was one long seat and we spread our fat selves out and passed out the whole way there. waking up occasionally to see the raddest views ever. like what u picture ireland to be, it really looks like that. amazing. when we got to galway it was OF COURSE pouring rain. torrential rain. once again, that would happen to us. and we were walking around the city lost cuz this stupid beezy in a travel agency gave us the wrong directions. like who works in a travel agency and doesnt know the city. retard. so we were lost in the rain with our backpacks weighing 900 lbs and we saw two friends we had met in dublin, an australian and a german. of course the annoying german was staying in our hostel....in our room. like that would happen. we went out with them in the pouring rain that night to this pub with traditional irish music with old men singing loudly to the most irish songs u can imagine. it was amazing. that was the experience i couldnt leave ireland without. we of course had to have a guinness to be irish. delicious. and we cheered the old men that were singing. just like i always pictured. anyways...it was basically a bunch of experiences like that. with amazing food. all we did was eat. we were in such shock at how good the food was and how many options there were to eat because its not like that in spain that we went crazy. we literally walked down the street and couldnt go a block without buying something. at this one open air market we listened to a man play classic rock and sing while we ate the spiciest chili of our lives made by this precious black man. anyways. words cant really describe the feeling ireland gave me. it was like my whole childhood imagination of this magical place. something about it makes u feel good and just want to stay there forever (except for the torrential rain). irish people just live differently, they appreciate life and no matter how old they are...theyre still young. after endless adventures that i have no time to write about, we came home to new roomates. an italian and a guy from new mexico. not to mention ivan, who steals our waters and plays music loudly and is just all around psycho. but hes a character. thats for sure. were goin to belgium in a month for I LOVE TECHNO. basically this huge festival with all these dj's. i might just leave my soul on the dancefloor like i did with daft punk. best. time. ever.
